
Rebekah Bastian is a tech leader, entrepreneur, writer, and artist who builds at the intersection of technology, creativity, and impact. Her experience spans consumer marketplaces, enterprise technology, creative hardware and AI safety, with a career that has taken her from global technology companies to scaling startups and founding one of her own.
Rebekah spent 15 years at Zillow, joining the company before launch and helping scale it into a category-defining consumer brand and public company. In leadership roles including VP of Product and VP of Community & Culture, she built products and marketplaces used by millions of people and created new ways for the company to use its products, people, and resources to address housing challenges. Earlier in her career, she worked at Microsoft on software used around the world.
She went on to found OwnTrail, a user-generated social platform for sharing nonlinear life paths, which was acquired by Teal. She later served as SVP of Product and Marketing at Glowforge, where she helped build creative hardware and software that empowered people to bring their ideas and businesses to life. Most recently, she served as Chief Marketing Officer at mpathic, working at the intersection of human data and AI safety to help companies build safer, more human-centered AI.
Rebekah is the author of the award-winning book Blaze Your Own Trail, a contributor to several publications, and an advocate for equity and belonging in the workplace. She serves on the board of Bellwether Housing and is an angel investor and advisor to early-stage startups and venture funds. Her impact has been recognized by Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, Inman’s 33 People Changing the Real Estate Industry, and the Female Founders Alliance Champion Awards.
She holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor’s from the University of Washington.
