Sometimes I try to be funny. And usually, I’m doing it as satire, to take a light-hearted and humorous approach to naming systemic inequities. (Or just playing with puns… I love puns).

Well, Actually…
wellactually.lol is a website that auto-generates a mansplaining response to any statement.
In addition to giving me the chance to play around with generative AI (using YouAI, Midjourney & Google sites to create it), it’s a social commentary on the phenomenon known affectionately as Mansplaining.
Well, actually, mansplaining can come form anywhere, but generally tends to involve men contradicting a woman’s knowledge, research or lived experience with a patronizing rebuttal.
GirlBuzz
GirlBuzz is a (made-up) wearable tech device. The beautifully-bedazzled #girlboss necklace not only makes a woman feel like boss she longs to be… cutting-edge AI within the pendant detects when her tone has become too abrasive or assertive, and gives her a subtle buzz, to remind her to tone it down a bit. The accompanying app lets her track how many times she was buzzed in the last week, and compare that with her historical data. So that she can work towards less buzz, more boss™️.
GirlBuzz raised a $500k round from Extremely First Ventures – check out the press release here!
Extremely First Ventures
Extremely First Ventures is an early-stage Silicon Valley venture fund. Their team comes from a diverse range of backgrounds: from Stanford to HBS, from exited unicorns to FAANG leadership, from Menlo Park to Palo Alto.
The website is is made up of AI-generated people (Midjourney) and content (Chat GPT4), combined with a bit of snark inspired by my fundraising journey at OwnTrail.
NFT Rejection Letters
Being rejected by investors – often times for ridiculous reasons or in ridiculous ways – is an incredibly common entrepreneurial experience. Especially for underestimated founders. The experience doesn’t get talked about in the open nearly enough though!
To normalize the conversation, I created an NFT collection is made up of real rejection letters that startup founders have received. Read more about the project in GeekWire.

The Day James Made an Introduction
I wrote this article to examine the common occurrence where a man in leadership takes credit for all of the accomplishments that a women achieves, based on a small act of help that he may have provided, once upon a time.
Yes, this was inspired by someone. And yes, I sent him the article 😜

Pun Slam
I once came in 2nd place in a pun competition, that I entered on a whim. I don’t have any footage of it, but this is a picture of my kids watching it go down 💀
